Tydle Magazine is the only magazine in print or online to exclusively feature Flatland Skimboarding. It is produced annually and released online to a worldwide audience. Tydle magazine is dedicated to everything Flatland oriented including spot checks, interviews, tips, travel, event coverage, all combined with a jaw dropping photo annual. Our staff is completely made up of veteran flatland skimboarders and has worked incredibly hard to bring creative content and world class photography to this publication.
Tydle Magazine is the end result of John Minns and Kyle Lynch’s efforts to create a small skim related publication. Our original idea was to design a local tide table catered to flatland skimboarders. It was to be about 60 pages, and include some sick photos, a couple of spot checks and a few ads from local shops. We certainly didn’t realize the cost of printing such a project, it quickly became out of the question for a few skimboarders to finance such a large undertaking. We were a bit frustrated but by no means were we giving up. As we searched for other options, it soon became apparent that the best way to create our publication was to put it on the internet. It was with this decision that a lot of our original ideas were thrown away and new ones sprung up in their place. Now that the cost of printing had been eliminated from the equation we were free to head in any direction we chose. Why not create something dedicated to the sport we love ... Flatland Skimboarding? We got pretty fired up by the idea. In the past Flatland skimboarding really hasn’t had an outlet to express itself and evolve. That settled it - flatland skimboarders were going to produce a magazine for flatland skimboarders, and Tydle was born.
Kyle Lynch - is a veteran flatland skimboarder who makes his home in White Rock, Canada. Kyle is the guy who pours his blood, sweat in tears into the publication. Lynch has got his hands in everything Tydle: art, web, photos, writing and public relations.
John Minns - is one of the most highly respected flatland skimboarders in the world and the head of operations for Tydle Magazine. Minns leads the publication with an organized mind and a savvy business sense. Without him, the staff would surely run amok.
Yuri Choufour - is not only one of the best rail riders there is but has taken the position of Tydle staff photgrapher for British Columbia.
Matt McDonald - is the newest guy on the staff, he is a veteran skimboarder with a lot of experience in media: look out for him to be contributing to Tydle Vol.3 in a big way.
